On our journey, we’ll be staying at the Flinders Island Gourmet Retreat, an exclusive escape nestled in one of Tasmania’s most untouched and wild landscapes. The retreat offers a serene, luxurious experience, boasting five bespoke rooms each with its own ensuite bathroom, original Tasmanian artworks, and plush, comfortable beds to ensure a restful night’s sleep. For moments of quiet relaxation, two cosy areas are attached to the bedrooms, in addition to the spacious dining and lounge room found in the main part of the retreat.
Outside, you’ll find a peaceful sheltered courtyard, perfect for savouring a morning coffee. The eastern veranda is equipped with long tables and chairs, inviting you to take in the fresh air while enjoying some downtime.
Each evening, you’ll have the opportunity to partake in cooking demonstrations led by Wendy, our host and culinary expert. With a passion for fresh, local produce, much of which is sourced directly from her own garden, Wendy will craft delicious dinners that celebrate the island’s natural bounty.
