Highlights

Overview

Our journey begins in Reykjavik, leading you through a breathtaking landscape of fire and ice. Experience the wonders of Iceland as you traverse spouting geysers, pristine blue lagoons, colossal glaciers, and vibrant valleys that stretch to the sea. This adventure offers a deep immersion into Iceland’s extraordinary terrain, featuring stunning coastal and mountain walks.

Our first destination is the charming, remote fishing port of Siglufjörður, a gem of the northwest. Perched at the base of steep mountain cliffs, Siglufjörður, Iceland’s northernmost town, offers a picturesque fjord and serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding rugged mountains. The Arctic Circle is just 40km away, enhancing the town’s appeal for outdoor enthusiasts.

From Siglufjörður, you have the opportunity to embark on a whale-watching excursion, with the chance to encounter humpback whales and the majestic blue whale. Afterward, we visit the awe-inspiring Goðafoss, known as the “Waterfall of the Gods,” before heading to Lake Mývatn, renowned globally for its exceptional bird-watching.

Explore the diverse landscapes around Lake Mývatn, including the Dimmuborgir lava fields, famous for their unique volcanic formations. In the Krafla volcano region, traverse rift fissures and lava flows from the eruptions of 1975 and 1984.

Our journey continues through the stark, contrasting desert landscapes of the Northeast Highlands to the formidable Dettifoss in Vatnajökull National Park. Europe’s largest waterfall by volume, Dettifoss is set amidst an arid expanse of sand and rock formations, creating a striking contrast.

We then traverse the stunning Jökulsárlón Lagoon, cross the Skaftafellsheiði Heath, and marvel at the Svartifoss waterfall before skirting the massive Skaftafellsjökull Glacier. In the Reykjadalur Valley, soak in the lush green hills, natural hot springs, and the magnificence of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On our final day, indulge in a soothing dip in the Blue Lagoon’s renowned milky blue waters, a perfect conclusion to our Icelandic adventure.
