Overview
Embark on a journey through the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Grampians, a renowned region of breathtaking natural beauty. Dominated by rugged mountain peaks towering over 1000 metres, this area is home to an abundance of wildlife and offers visitors a truly unique experience. Our adventure begins with a visit to Mafeking, the historic site of Victoria’s last gold rush, where in 1900, more than 10,000 hopeful diggers sought their fortunes beneath canvas.
The Grampians National Park is a botanical haven, bursting with vibrant wildflowers throughout the year. Before European settlement, much of this area was home to Aboriginal communities, and today it holds the highest concentration of Aboriginal rock art in Victoria. Our walks will take you to iconic spots such as Mt. Zero, the Wonderland Range, and Mt. William, immersing you in the region’s rich history and spectacular scenery.
Next, we journey to the coastal splendour of Port Campbell and the Otway National Parks, perfect for days spent exploring diverse coastal trails. Experience the striking beauty of the Southern Ocean as we visit the iconic 12 Apostles, towering limestone stacks sculpted by the powerful waves. We also venture into the Otway hinterland, a sanctuary for unique wildlife.
A highlight of the Otway region is Melba Gully, famed for its enchanting Myrtle Beech forests. During our stay, you’ll have the opportunity to trek along two sections of the newly opened Great Ocean Walk, which passes through previously untouched areas of the former Otway National Park. This unforgettable journey blends coastal marvels with lush, inland wilderness, offering a perfect balance of adventure and natural wonder.
