Wilsons Promontory

Highlights

Overview

Embark on an unforgettable journey through one of Australia’s premier National Parks: Wilsons Promontory, affectionately known as “The Prom.” As the southernmost point of mainland Australia, this park boasts breathtaking coastal and mountainous landscapes.

With over 700 native plant species, Wilsons Promontory is a haven for diverse wildlife. Encounter kangaroos, koalas, and wombats, while spotting emus, rosellas, kookaburras, and cockatoos that grace the park’s varied habitats.

Our adventure begins with a scenic exploration of the George Bass Coastal Walk near Kilcunda, offering striking coastal views.

We then spend a full day in Wilsons Promontory National Park, traversing a range of stunning locations including Whisky Bay, Lilly Pilly Gully, Tidal River, Pillar Point, and Squeaky Beach. Discover the hidden gem of Cape Liptrap Coastal Park with a remarkable coastal walk from South Walkerville to Waratah Bay. Re-enter The Prom to experience the dramatic vistas of Tongue Point and the pristine beauty of Fairy Cove.

Our journey continues into the Strzelecki Ranges, where we visit Tarra-Bulga National Park. Here, explore shady fern-lined creeks, lush tree ferns, towering mountain ash, and ancient myrtle beech. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing visit to the Clarke family farm for a charming stroll and delightful afternoon tea.

On our final day, we start leisurely before heading to Waratah Hills Winery for a celebratory lunch. In the afternoon, we make our way along the South Gippsland Highway back to Melbourne, concluding an exceptional exploration of Victoria’s natural wonders.
