We cannot believe that it is Christmas and this crazy year of 2020… is slowly coming to an end! It has been challenging for all of us and our lives have been disrupted since the start of the Covid19 pandemic. Gabriela, Graeme and all the European guides have missed you greatly this year and we can't wait to be out there walking with you again soon.
Residence St Mary, Provence
We were unable to operate any tours in Europe after we finished our Winter Tale in Iceland at the end of March. Fortunately we did have good support from our European travellers during summer for our apartments here inResidence St Mary in the South of France.
Working from a home office has given new opportunities to leave the city and work from a favourite corner over these lockdowns. Winters here in Provence are beautiful with mostly warm sunny days. The nights can be cool, even sometimes frosty and in our nearby Lure Mountains we have already had quite a bit of snow. Here’s hoping for a white Christmas!
We are at present in the final stages of our2021/2022brochure and we hope it won’t be too long before we can welcome you back on the track. 2020 has certainly brought many changes and pushed us even faster into the digital world.
So after 35 years of printing our annual Walkabout brochure, we are quite nostalgic to say that the time has come to give in and present our new virtual brochure for the very first time only on our website.
Unprecedented global changes, which we have all experienced over the past year, have forced us to think outside the box. Time is needed to re-evaluate and find new innovative ideas on how to adapt and continue our work to which we are so devoted!

We are incredibly thankful that it has allowed us the unique opportunity to return to some of our favourite corners in Australia, like Dinner Plain, our former home, on our Discover Victoria’s High-Country tour.
At long last we have finally managed to introduce the beautiful New Zealand Gateway tour into our WGA program, which has been on the list for many years. We have also created some more exciting new walks in Australia for 2021 and 2022.
OurBest of the West tour takes us to Western Australia and ourSydney Coastal Gemstour lets us experience the magnificent National Parks north of Sydney. In Europe we have made some minor changes… our Gourmet Trail has been a total winner in the program since 1992 and we thought it was time for a “Gourmet Trail... revisited”.
It now begins in Florence from where we travel to San Gimignano to enjoy some of the old favourite walks. The island of Elba comes next where we follow some spectacular coastal walking trails.
The Maremma in Tuscany is lesser known but is overflowing with stunning walks and extraordinary Etruscan and Roman history before the tour ends in Rome.
On our Discover the Piedmont tour we explore this famous wine and food region on a 7-day gastronomic walk, which also includes two cooking classes. It begins and ends in Turin. All the other favourites are still in the program.
